Brockville Concert Association Cancelling June 21st Twin Flames Performance After One of the Singers is Facing Serious Charges

Brockville – The Brockville Concert Association (BCA) is cancelling this Saturday’s performance of Twin Flames after one of the singers of the group has been charged with historical sexual offences.

The Twin Flames were featured performers for BCA’s annual performance in celebration of National Indigenous Peoples Day.

“We know that Twin Flames have a large local audience who are touched, moved, and inspired by their music, and we are sorry to disappoint them, especially with such short notice,” said the BCA

They said the Brockville Arts Centre has already begun refunding ticket holders.

“We trust that everyone will take a moment on Saturday, June 21, to acknowledge, honour, and celebrate the cultural gifts of our First Nations, Inuit, and Metis people. Thank you to all.

The CBC says that one of the singers behind the musical duo Twin Flames, Sunchild Deer-Okpik, also known as Jaaji Okpik, faces seven charges over alleged sexual offences from the early 2000s.

The charges include sexual assault, sexual touching of a young person while in a position of authority, and forcible confinement.
