
Gananoque – Police reports from the Gananoque Police Service from May 26th to June 15th, 2025.
Failure to comply:
On May 26th, 2025, officers on patrol observed a person outside of their residence without their surety, as required by their current release conditions. The person evaded police, and as a result, a warrant was issued.
On June 16th, 2025, officers observed the 43-year-old person from Gananoque, and they were placed under arrest and charged with Failure to comply with release order. They were released on an appearance notice to be seen in court at a later date.
Failure to comply:
On June 2nd, 2025, the Gananoque Police Service received a report of two youths who had left the residence without permission. One youth was on conditions to remain in the residence after curfew. A warrant was issued for one youth as a result, and both were reported as missing.
On June 8th, 2025, the Kingston Police Service located both youths, and the 15-year-old youth was arrested and charged with Failure to comply with release order and Failure to comply with undertaking. They were released on an undertaking, and both youths were returned to the residence without incident.
Operation While Impaired:
On June 7th, 2025, officers on patrol in the early morning hours observed a vehicle parked but with the engine revving. A person was observed sleeping in the driver’s seat with their foot on the gas pedal. The driver showed signs of impairment and was subsequently arrested and transported to the station for further testing.
As a result of the tests, the 19-year-old person from Prescott was charged with Operation while impaired- blood alcohol concentration and Operation while impaired – alcohol/drugs. They were released on an appearance notice and a mandatory 90-day license suspension. The vehicle was impounded for 7 days.
Uttering Threats:
On June 11th, 2025, officers received a report of threats to cause bodily harm that occurred online after a history of animosity between both parties.
A 47-year-old person from Gananoque was arrested and charged with Utter threats – cause death or bodily harm. They were released on an undertaking with conditions not to contact the victim.
Theft Over $5000:
On June 12th, 2025, the Gananoque Police Service received a report of theft of the victim’s personal belongings from a local business, totalling approximately $7000.00.
An investigation was conducted, and a 30-year-old person from Lansdowne was arrested; the stolen items were located, and they were charged with Theft over $5000 and Possession of property obtained by crime over $5000. They were released on an undertaking with conditions.
Sexual Assault On a Person Under 16:
On June 15th, 2025, the Gananoque Police Service received a report of a sexual assault. An investigation was conducted, and as a result, a 62-year-old person was arrested and charged with Sexual assault on a person under 16 years of age and Invitation to sexual touching under 16 years of age. They were held in custody for a show-cause bail hearing.
Uttering Threats & Criminal Harassment:
On May 12th, 2025, officers received information regarding ongoing harassment dating back to 2024 in the form of emails, texts and phone calls. The suspect was cautioned repeatedly at the request of the victim, but continued the contact.
As a result, a 69-year-old person from Gatineau was arrested and charged with Utter threats – cause death or bodily harm and Criminal harassment – repeatedly communicate. They were released on an undertaking with conditions, to be seen in court at a later date.
