
Brockville – Two men are facing charges of assault with a weapon and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose after Brockville Police Service (BPS) responded to reports of two men involved in a sword fight on Tuesday night.
Police say they responded to the report around 11:00 pm on Tuesday, June 24th, where a 33-year-old man and a 49-year-old man were involved in a sword fight at an apartment building on King Street East.
An investigation by police revealed that the two were roommates and that they were involved in the altercation. As it escalated, the two resorted to a physical confrontation with swords. Police say after the altercation ended, one man locked themselves in the back room of the apartment.
Police officers found that both men had received multiple injuries and wounds, which were considered non-life-threatening; however, they did require medical attention.
They were charged with the following:
33-year-old, man
- Assault with a weapon
- Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose
- Uttering threats
- Two counts of failure to comply with probation
49-year-old, man;
- Assault with a weapon
- Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose
Both men were arrested for their actions and held on bail.
