Brockville – Police reports from the Brockville Police Service from June 27th to July 7th, 2025.

Impaired Driving Leads to Arrest:

On June 27, 2025, at about 8:00 am, police received information that a 63-year-old male, who was a construction worker, showed up to a worksite that morning and appeared to have been drinking.

It was confirmed that the worker was operating a vehicle on the way to the worksite.

Officers located the male and demanded a breath sample for testing. That testing resulted in a fail, and the subject was arrested. They were taken to the Brockville Police Service for additional testing, which confirmed he had been operating the vehicle while impaired.

The subject’s driver’s licence was suspended, and he was charged with operation while impaired, operation while impaired- blood alcohol concentration over 80mg. He was released with a future court date.

Intimate Partner Violence:

On June 28, 2025, at about 11:00 pm, police received a 911 call indicating that an assault had taken place in a common area of the 80 Water Street apartment building.

Investigation revealed that a woman and her 65-year-old boyfriend were involved in an argument in a hallway of the building. This dispute was witnessed by another resident in the building who observed the subject strike his girlfriend across the face with an open hand.

The witness attempted to step in and intervene, which resulted in the subject attempting to strike them as well. Luckily, the witness was able to move out of the way to avoid harm and the victim who was struck received non-life-threatening injuries.

The 65-year-old male was arrested and charged with two counts of assault and held for a bail hearing.

Intimate Partner Violence:

On June 30, 2025, at about 6:30 pm, police received a 911 call where it was believed a female could be heard describing a dispute taking place. It was learned that the location was in the area of Macodrum Drive.

Investigation revealed that a female and her 26-year-old husband were involved in an argument that turned physical. At that time, the male subject had struck the female in the side of her head with his hand. She received non-life-threatening injuries.

The male was arrested and charged with assault. He was released with conditions and a future court date.

Arrest Made Regarding Impaired Driving:

On July 2, 2025, at about 1:15 am, a motor vehicle stop was made concerning a traffic violation in the area of Stewart Boulevard and Jefferson Drive. The driver was identified to be a 19-year-old male, and it was believed that they had been consuming alcohol.

A roadside screening breath sample was taken, and the testing resulted in a fail. At that time, the subject was placed under arrest and taken to the Brockville Police Service for further testing.

It was confirmed that the driver was operating the vehicle while intoxicated. The vehicle was impounded, and the subject’s driver’s licence was suspended. Additionally, they were charged with two Highway Traffic Act offences in addition to operation while impaired and operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration over 80mg.

They were released with a court date.

Arrest Made After an Investigation into a Disturbance:

On July 6, 2025, at about 3:45 pm, police were notified of a male who was attempting to kick in a door to a residence at an apartment building on Fairknowe Drive.

An investigation revealed that a 24-year-old male had previously been in a relationship with one of the female tenants in the building. He had been asked to leave the property and not return earlier in the morning on the day of the call to the police. However, the male returned in the afternoon and began kicking the door in an attempt to break in and enter the apartment.

The subject was found to be on probation as well with conditions to keep the peace and be of good behaviour.

The male subject was located quickly by officers on their arrival and placed under arrest. He was held for a bail hearing after being charged with break & enter and failing to comply with probation.

Arrest Made After Stolen Vehicle was Recovered:

On July 7, 2025, at about 12:00 pm, an officer attempted a motor vehicle stop in the area of James Street West and Victoria Avenue, on a vehicle that had been reported stolen out of the Toronto area. The suspect vehicle did not stop and continued travelling in an attempt to evade police.

The officer did not pursue the vehicle for public safety reasons; however, it was noticed that the vehicle entered a secluded area, off the roadway, at the rear of Tim Horton’s on William Street.

The officer attended shortly after to that area and observed that the suspect vehicle had been abandoned and the suspects had fled on foot. Officers gave chase on foot and arrested a 40-year-old female; however, officers were unable to locate any other involved suspects.

The subject arrested was found to be currently bound by two separate probation orders.

The 40-year-old female was held for bail after being charged with possession of property obtained by crime and two counts of failing to comply with probation.
