Brockville – The Brockville Bunnies had only two games over this past weekend, winning both of them.
Saturday’s Game: Bunnies 7 – Kingston 3:
The Brockville Bunnies hosted the Kingston Ponies White 18u on Saturday at Fulford Park.
They came out on top with a 7-3 win, probably a good thing the team only played one nine-inning game, as it was a hot one on Saturday.
Bunnies’ Zadok Roiger with the win, going a solid 7 innings and giving up one earned run on five hits. A solo shot and a two-run shot accounted for Kingston’s scoring, while getting 7 k’s.
Hunter Sanger with two shutout innings of relief for the save. Levi Biller with his first career Bunnies homerun with Ryan Robinson (s,t) and Sanger (s,d) with two hits each.
Wyatt Last had 2 runs and a single, Lukus Doak and Mark Bowlby had one hit apiece.
The Bunnies stole 6 bases and left runners on base numerous times.
Sunday’s Game: Bunnies 8 – Whitby 6:
The Brockville Bunnies held off a late charge on Sunday from the Whitby 18u team, winning 8-6 in the 9 inning game.
Brockville’s Charlie Todd had the win, going 7 strong innings and allowing 5 hits with 10 k’s, gave up 2. Wyatt Brandwood was in relief with Aaron Roy getting the save. A couple of guys that have struggled at the plate recently had strong games with Zadok Roiger getting 3 hits (2s,d,3rbi) and Ben Buxton with two hits while continuing much improved play behind the dish.
Wyatt Last singled and then connected for his first career Bunnies homer in the 7th to give the Bunnies some extra breathing room.
There were singles by Hunter Sanger, Levi Biller and Mark Bowlby. Roy hit a pair of sacrifice flies, contributing 2 RBIs.
The Brockville Bunnies will play a doubleheader in Kingston this Sunday.
