
Brockville – On July 14, 2025, at about 1:00 am, police received a complaint regarding a male who appeared to be intoxicated in the area of the Brockville General Hospital.
Investigation revealed that a 56-year-old male and his girlfriend were travelling East from their home in the Pickering area. While on their way, they entered Brockville to attend the hospital as the female was believed to be experiencing a medical emergency concerning substance abuse.
When officers arrived, they located the male in the vehicle while running.
The subject was arrested for impaired driving and taken to the Brockville Police Service for further testing. There, it was confirmed that the male was impaired and driving with over 80mg of
alcohol in his blood.
During his time in custody, the male was not cooperative with police. He proceeded to self-harm by striking his head off the cruiser partition, door and scratching himself while in the cells.
Due to this, he was taken to the Brockville General Hospital for assistance. Once he was stable, he was issued a future court date after being charged with impaired operation and impaired operation – blood alcohol concentration over 80mg.
The vehicle was impounded and the driver’s licence suspended.
