
Gananoque – Police reports from the Gananoque Police Service from June 16th to July 15th, 2025.
Theft:
On June 12th, 2025, officers received a report of a theft of the complainant’s cellphone and laptop valued at approximately $7000.00.
A 30-year-old person from Lansdowne was identified and subsequently charged with Theft over $5000 and Possession of property obtained by crime over $5000.
They were released on undertaking with conditions. The stolen items were recovered and returned to the owner.
Uttering Threats:
On June 24th, 2025, officers received a report of a family dispute where a family member threatened to kill the other. Due to the victim fearing for their life, an 80-year-old person from Gananoque was arrested and charged with uttering threats to cause death. They were released on an undertaking with conditions.
Spousal Assault:
On July 1st, 2025, a report was made to police disclosing multiple incidents of intimate partner violence. As a result, a 35-year-old person from Gananoque was arrested and charged with Assault – spousal and Mischief under $5000. They were released on an undertaking with extensive conditions.
Break & Enter:
On July 1st, 2025, officers responded to a break and enter in progress at a residence. Upon arrival, damage was found in the residence, and the suspect was located and arrested.
A 41-year-old person from Gananoque was charged with Unlawfully in a dwelling house and Mischief under $5000. They were released on an undertaking with conditions.
Failure to Comply:
On July 8th, 2025, the Gananoque Police Service received information about a person known to be breaching their release conditions. As a result, a 30-year-old person from Gananoque was arrested and charged with Failure to comply with a release order. They were held in custody for a show-cause bail hearing.
Resisting Police Officer:
On July 10th, 2025, officers received information about a theft. The suspect was located by officers, but was non-compliant during the arrest. As a result, a 41-year-old person from Gananoque was charged with resisting a peace officer x2. They were released on an appearance notice.
Failure to Comply:
On July 11th, 2025, officers responded to a 9-1-1 call for an adult person who was potentially taken from the residence against their will.
Officers were able to locate the victim, who was unharmed and had left the residence with a friend. When found by police, they were no longer with the friend, but in the company of a person who was under conditions not to have contact with them.
As a result, a 35-year-old person from Gananoque was arrested and charged with Failure to comply with an undertaking and held in custody for a show-cause hearing. The victim returned home safely.
Failure to Comply, Break & Enter, Uttering Threats:
On July 13th, 2025, a complainant reported a person breaking into multiple apartment units. The suspect used a screwdriver to gain entry to any secure apartments. The suspect was located and placed under arrest. The 41-year-old person from Gananoque was charged with:
• Failure to comply with undertaking x2
• Mischief under $5000 x2
• Break, enter a dwelling house with intent to commit an indictable offence
They were held in custody for a show-cause bail hearing but later released on a release order by the court.
The day after their release on July 15th, 2025, the Gananoque Police Service received a report of a break and enter to a residence where the homeowner had been threatened with a screwdriver.
The suspect then fled the scene and used a family member’s vehicle without permission to escape. A warrant was sought for the 41-year-old person from Gananoque, who was located later that day and arrested. As a result, they were charged with:
• Mischief under $5000
• Take motor vehicle without consent
• Uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm
• Failure to comply with release order x3
• Failure to comply with the undertaking
They were held in custody for a show-cause bail hearing and remanded into custody until their next court date.
