Brockville Bunnies Weekend Results – Won 3, Lost 1

Brockville – The Brockville Bunnies won both games against Ottawa’s Watson Elite 16u on Saturday at Fulford, while on Sunday, they flipped the location, travelling to Ottawa, where they won one and lost one to Watson.

On Saturday at home, the Bunnies got two wins over the Watson Elite 16u by scores of 10-5 and 11-8.

Game 1 – Bunnies 10 Watson 5:

Hunter Sanger had the win, giving up 9 hits, 1 walk with 7 k’s. Ryan Robinson had 3 hits, Zadok Roiger with a homerun off the lamppost in left. Levi Biller and Adam Bergman doubled with singles by Sanger and Wyatt Brandwood.

Game 2 – Bunnies 11 Watson 8:

The Bunnies hopped out to an 11-2 lead, but Watson scored 6 in the 7th inning to make it interesting. Charlie Todd with the win going solid for 5 innings, giving up 7 hits, 2 walks with 7 k’s. Aaron Roy was in relief with Biller getting the two-out save. Sanger with the 3 hrs and 5 RBIs. Robinson had 3 hits, Todd with a big 3-run homer early to break open a 3-2 game and singled. Wyatt Last with 2 hits (s,d), Biller doubled with singles by Roiger, Mark Bowlby and Lukus Doak.

It was a big day for the two graduating Bunnies in their final Fulford appearance as Ryan ‘Roboshow‘ Robinson strokes 6 hits on the day from the leadoff spot and Hunter ‘SangBang‘ Sanger gets a complete game win in game 1 and in game 2 bangs out not one, not two but three legit homeruns (1 to left in the trees and two to centerfield where not many are hit).

On Sunday, the Bunnies and Watson 16u continued swinging the bats in Game 3 as Brockville outhit Watson 14-9 on route to a Bunnies 12-7 win. Watson continued swinging the hot bats in game 4, and Bunnies’ bats cooled off in a lopsided 13-1 win for Watson as the Bunnies’ pitching depth is tested.

Game 3 – Bunnies 12 Watson 7:

Zadok Roiger got the win, gutting out 6 innings despite giving up 9 hits, 3 walks with 4 k’s and giving up 6 earned runs. 4 Bunnies’ errors didn’t help. Levi Biller with a 2nd save on the weekend. Mark Bowlby with a big game at the plate, slugging his 1st career Bunnies homer along with a pair of doubles. Ryan Robinson, for the third game in a row, had 3 hits (2s,d) while Charlie Todd doubled twice for 4 RBIs. Wyatt Last had 2 hits (s,d) with singles by Hunter Sanger, Lukus Doak, Adam Bergman and Roiger.

Game 4 – Watson 13 Bunnies 1:

Watson scores early and often to make the fourth game of the weekend one to forget about (it happens now and then). Wyatt Brandwood with the loss, with relief from Last and Robinson. The Bunnies only manage 4 hits with Bergman doubling and singles by Roiger, Biller and Doak. Lots of positives, winning 3 out of 4 games despite missing starting catcher Ben Buxton all weekend.

Hopefully, the Bunnies can surprise a few teams next weekend in Montreal as the CanAm playoffs take place.
