The current dry conditions allow for rapid fire spread. They are asking residents to be proactive and vigilant during these conditions.
They say violations will be enforced with fines.
This unified decision was made in response to the extreme fire risk due to the prolonged dry conditions, high temperatures, and wind, said the Fire Chiefs.
The move is meant to protect our communities, properties, and first responders from the very real danger of fast-moving wildfires. If you have any questions, please contact your local fire service.
“We thank all 13 municipalities for standing together to prioritize public safety. Please report violations to your local municipality during business hours, or call 911 in an emergency or after hours.
Check your local municipal website for by-law details and updates. Let’s all do our part to keep Leeds and Grenville safe. Please share the message!!!” said the Leeds-Grenville Fire Chiefs
