Canine Watersports Canada officially launched in January 2016 and is Canada’s first 100% Canadian-owned and operated dock jumping company.
The three-day event will feature the popular long-distance Jump, where dogs run down a 36-foot dock and jump into a 45-foot pool of water, chasing their toy for the longest jump.
Toss, which is similar to Jump; however, the dog must catch the object thrown by the handler.
Grab, which is a combined height and distance discipline, consists of 3 divisions, and Lure, which is a timed swimming race that is similar to lure coursing in the water.
Everything gets underway on Friday, with a practice starting at 9:00 am, followed by Jump #1 at 10:00 am. There will be three Jumps and one Grab on Friday.
Saturday will feature Jumps #4 & 5 along with Toss and another Grab.
Sunday will feature Jump #6, Lure, and then the finals, taking place at 3:00 pm.
The championship finals will be held on Sunday afternoon.
The Canadian Dock Jumping Championships are free to spectators.
