
Athens – After a year off due to a lack of volunteers, the 42nd annual Athens CORNFEST is back this Saturday, August 16th and for the first time at Centennial Park.
The free event is being held from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm and will feature live music, children’s games, a free petting zoo, face painting, a Corn Hole Tournament, vendors and crafts and of course, corn on the cob.
The popular Children’s parade will start at 10:00 am at Centre 76 parking lot. Children will walk and ride around the southern half of the track at Centennial Park. As well, there will be a silent auction.
A new attraction will be ‘How Far Can You Launch A Cob of Corn.
