Brockville – On August 11, 2025, at approximately 2:00 am, Brockville Police responded to an alarm activation at Matt’s Auto Service on William Street. The alarm system reported multiple motion sensor triggers at the location.
Upon arrival, officers observed a suspect vehicle fleeing the scene. The vehicle, described as a light blue Audi, was last seen heading eastbound on Eleanor Street. Officers attempted to follow but temporarily lost sight of the vehicle. It was later determined that the Audi was registered to an individual from Etobicoke, Ontario.
Shortly thereafter, the vehicle was located after it had left the roadway at the east end of Eleanor Street, continued north through a field, and came to a stop in a creek. The suspect(s) fled the scene on foot before officers arrived. This vehicle is suspected to be connected to other criminal activity in nearby jurisdictions, which is currently under investigation.
During the same time frame, it was discovered that two additional vehicles had been stolen from Matt’s Auto. The suspects had broken into the building to access keys and fled northbound on William Street in the stolen vehicles. One of these vehicles was later recovered near Stewart Boulevard and Centennial Road after it collided with a road sign. The suspect fled the scene before police arrival.
At this time, the investigation remains ongoing. Officers have recovered the original suspect vehicle (Audi) and one of the stolen vehicles (a Nissan). One vehicle remains outstanding: a 2012 grey Buick Regal.
Anyone with information related to this incident is asked to contact Detective Knezevic at the Brockville Police Service at 613-342-0127, or anonymously through Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
