Forthton – A packed card of racing took place this past Saturday night at the Brockville, Ontario Speedway, 6 divisions took to the track on Mobil 1 night for 7 feature events with exciting action all night long.

The Eastern Ontario Vintage Stock Car Club was on hand, and the cars of the 70s/80s took to the track first. Brian Comeau, a former Vintage Modified champion, took the lead early on with veteran Randy Gaudet and Ian Gordon right there to challenge. Comeau held a solid lead, but Gaudet was closing quickly and looking for another Brockville win. Behind them, Steve Barber, former Mini Stock champion and Sportsman feature winner, was on the move, getting to third, then put pressure on Gaudet for second. Despite the late challenges from Gaudet and Barber, Brian Comeau would complete a successful return, scoring the big win. Randy Gaudet, Steve Barber, Ian Gordon, and Steve Billings completed the top 5.

In the 50/60s 20-lap event, veteran Greg Hale was looking for his 4th series win of the year as he took the lead at the drop of the green. The story was the race from second on back as Dexter Billings held the runner-up spot, but Joey Hilts, Chris Wilson and Pete Stapper were right there to challenge. Wilson and Stapper both were on the move and had sold top 5 runs going, until lap 15 when the two drivers tangled, taking them both out of contention for a solid night. Hale continued to remain up front and without the help of a caution in the final laps, Greg Hale was not to be stopped as he scored his 2nd Brockville win and fourth series win of the year. Dexter Billings crossed in 2nd with Dwayne Emon charging to third over Joey Hilts and Jeff Cledgett, who rebounded from a lap 1 spin to finish 5th.

Johnathon Ferguson and Kalen Draper were the early pace setters in the 30-lap DIRTcar 358 Modified feature. Draper was able to grab the lead away on lap 5 and started to pull away, with Ferguson and Kyle Dingwall doing everything they could to try and keep pace. Lap 9 saw Melcolm Banks slow with a problem on the front end of his car and would have to head pitside. On the restart, Kalen Draper continued his strong run as he pulled away once again. By the halfway point, Draper had a big lead over Ferguson and Dingwall, while older brother and points leader Tristan Draper was on the move, taking 4th in the late stages. Over the final laps, Kalen Draper was the dominant driver on the night, and despite the efforts of Ferguson and Tristan Draper, Kalen was in control, scoring his 4th career Brockville Speedway Modified win, ahead of Johnathon Ferguson, Tristan Draper, Kyle Dingwall and Jarrett Herbison.

Josh Verne Jr. has been the dominant force in the Surprenant Truck Shop Crate Sprint car division and took the lead at the drop of the green with Liam and Lee Ladouceur chasing him. Verne was on a mission on this night, looking for his personal milestone, 50th career win, but Lee Ladouceur was on the move, looking to spoil the party. As the laps clicked off, Josh Verne Jr. held a comfortable lead, but Ladouceur was closing fast. Ladouceur would catch the leader in traffic as Verne kept working hard to get by. Verne would find his way through the traffic successfully, which proved to be the winning move as Josh Verne Jr. went on to score his 7th win in 9 races and his 50th career feature win. Lee Ladouceur claimed his 7th runner-up finish of the year, with Liam Ladouceur, Adam Turner and Marc Surprenant the top 5.

Blake Smith and Greyson Adderley were in a battle for the lead at the start of the 25-lap DIRTcar Sportsman feature, with Smith getting the advantage over Adderley with Jessica Power running third. Early yellows allowed Adderley to get a shot at the lead and would do just that as he powered in front, bringing Jessica Power to second. Adderley would hold the lead until lap 9 when Power moved to the front and, much like the previous night at Can Am, would drive away from the field. Power would build up over a straightaway lead by the halfway point as Dylan Kirkland and Bobby Herrington were on the move from mid-pack, taking second and third, but knew they had work to do to catch the race leader. Without the help of a caution flag in the final laps, Jessica Power was able to drive away from everyone and do something she had not done in her career, win twice in one weekend, scoring her first win since July 9th of 2022 at Brockville and 19th of her Sportsman career. Bobby Herrington got by Dylan Kirkland for second at the finish, with Matt Barbour and Greyson Adderley holding for his first career top-five finish.

In the 15-lap Street Stock feature, Charles Marchand was looking to keep the streak of different winners going as he grabbed the lead over Kyle Massey and Vincent Charbonneau. Marchand has had some great runs this year, but bad luck has stopped him from possibly winning more. Behind the leader, Massey and Charbonneau had a spirited battle for the runner-up spot, which Kyle Massey would eventually keep. Without a caution, Charles Marchand was able to drive away and dominate the entire race for his first win of 2025. Kyle Massey and Vincent Charbonneau took the final podium spots, with points leader Mike Schonauer crossing 4th and Brad Taillon rounding out the top 5.

The night was completed with an exciting finish in the 12-lap Novice Sportsman feature. The race started with Damien King grabbing the lead, but he lost the handle, spinning in turn two. When the green came back out, Tessa Riemersma was looking for an early birthday present as she took the lead. Kyle Kudrinko was right there and grabbed the lead one lap later and appeared to be on his way to his third win of the season. Jacory Arquette was on the move in his first-ever Brockville start, taking second from Riemersma, then closed in on the race leader. Over the final laps, Arquette pressured the points leader and would get by for the lead to score his first win in his first start. Kyle Kudrinko, Tessa Riemersma, Chris Wilson, Damien King and Cole Hannah completed the field.

Next week, another full program of racing action will be on hand with the Mini Stock Series joining the card and the DIRTcar Pro Stocks making a return. Splash Well Drilling will be on hand as the title sponsor, with racing beginning at 7 pm.
