Gananoque – Police reports from the Gananoque Police Service from July 21st to August 16th, 2025.

Spousal Assault/Uttering Threats/Weapons Charges:

On July 21st, 2025, the Gananoque Police Service received a report of intimate partner violence. The victim had been headbutted, slapped, threatened and had coffee thrown on them prior to the suspect fleeing. As a result, a 48-year-old person from Joyceville was arrested and charged with Assault – spousal, Assault with a weapon – spousal, and Uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm–spousal. They were held in custody for a show-cause bail hearing.

Youth Charged with Theft:

On July 27th, 2025, officers received a report of theft of alcohol from a local business. The suspects later returned to the business to steal more alcohol. A foot pursuit ensued, and both suspects were located nearby. A 16-year-old person from Hamilton was arrested and charged with Theft under $5000 and Escape from lawful custody. They were released on an undertaking with conditions.

Impaired Driver:

On August 8th, 2025, officers responded to a local business for a report of an impaired driver. Officers spoke with the driver, who showed signs of intoxication and a roadside screening test was conducted, resulting in a fail. The 71-year-old from Florida was arrested and transported to the station for further testing. They were charged with Operation while impaired – alcohol and/or drugs, Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration and released on an appearance notice. They were issued a mandatory 90-day license suspension, and the vehicle was impounded for 7 days.

Breaching Conditional Release:

On August 13th, 2025, officers on patrol conducted a traffic stop. During the stop, it was discovered that an occupant was breaching their conditional release order by being outside of their residence past curfew. As a result, the 30-year-old person from Kingston was arrested and remanded into custody to be seen in bail court.

Failure to Attend Court:

On July 25th, 2025, a bench warrant was issued for a 35-year-old person from Gananoque for failing to attend their court date as required. On August 15th, 2025, the person was arrested and charged with Failure to attend court. They were released on an appearance notice.

Impaired Driving:

On August 16th, 2025, the Gananoque Police Service received a report of a person unconscious for hours in a running parked vehicle. When officers responded to the local business, the driver was difficult to rouse, and the vehicle had multiple open containers of alcohol. They were placed under arrest and transported to the station for testing. As a result, a 37-year-old person from Little Britain was charged with Operation while impaired – alcohol and/or drugs, Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration, and released on an appearance notice. They were issued a mandatory 90-day license suspension, and the vehicle was impounded for 7 days.
