Ontario’s Minister of Long-Term Care, Parliamentary Assistant, and MPP Clark Attend Site Visit of the new G. Tackaberry and Family Home in Athens

Athens – Members of Counties’ Council were honoured to host Ontario’s Minister of Long-Term Care, the Honourable Natalia Kusendova-Bashta, Parliamentary Assistant, John Jordan, and Leeds-Grenville-Thousand Islands and Rideau Lakes MPP, Steve Clark, for a tour of the nearly completed G. Tackaberry and Family Home in Athens.

“It was a privilege to welcome Minister of Long-Term Care Natalia Kusendova-Bashta, Parliamentary Assistant John Jordan, and our local MPP Steve Clark to the G. Tackaberry and Family Home in Athens. Their visit underscores the significance of this project in our community. This state-of-the-art facility, now 99% complete, stands as a testament to our commitment to enhancing long-term care for the 192 residents who will soon call it home. The expansive size, which is three times larger than Maple View Lodge, reflects our dedication to providing a modern, comfortable, and supportive environment for both residents and staff.

The collaboration and support from local leaders, including our dedicated mayors and the committed staff, have been instrumental in bringing this vision to life. We are eager to see the positive impact this new home will have on our community, offering a space where our compassionate staff can continue to deliver exceptional care to those who have been the backbone of Leeds and Grenville. This home not only symbolizes progress and growth but also a deep respect for the well-being of our residents. We look forward to officially welcoming residents and continuing to build a brighter future for long-term care in our region.”

The G. Tackaberry and Family Home will provide 192 long-term care beds in Leeds and Grenville, and is the largest capital investment in Counties’ history.
