VIDEO: Braves Beat Carleton Place 6-4 in Season Opener Friday Night in CCHL

Brockville – The Brockville Braves won a 6-4 decision over the Carleton Place Canadians on Friday night at their CCHL season home opener at the Memorial Centre.

The Carleton Place Canadians scored the first goal in the first period from Nathan Landriault. Brockville’s Peter Legostaev would score the Braves’ first goal in the first period with assists from Will Brauer and Hunter Robitaille. Kayden Buller would pick up another for the Braves in the first, assisted by Ryan McNally and Jesse Lumsden on a power play.

In the second period, Volodymyr Karpachov and Vital Dinis each picked up a goal for the Braves with assists from Drake Sled & Jackson Wade and Ryan McNally & Will Brauer. The Canadians would also pick up two more goals from Parker Tam and Mason Walker. Brockville would lead 4-3 at the end of the period.

Brockville’s Peter Legostaev would score another goal early in the third period on the power play with an assist from Jesse Lumsden, followed by a goal from Ryan McNally and assisted by Legostaev. Carleton Place would pick up one more goal from Walker, his second of the night.

The Braves outshot the Canadians 30 to 34.

Brockville’s Nate Galbraith stopped 30 shots out of 34 during the game.

The Braves will travel to Nepean on Wednesday night to face the Raiders in their first away game of the season. Game time is 7:30 pm.
