Maynard – Earlier today, INVISTA announced the decision to discontinue operations at its Maitland facility in Augusta Township. The Township is deeply saddened by this news, and our thoughts are with all those affected.
With approximately 100 positions tied to the Maitland operations, this site closure will have a significant impact on employees, families, and the community.
“The loss of 100 jobs in Augusta Township and the surrounding area is truly devastating,” said Mayor Jeff Shaver. “Over the past five years, our Council has worked tirelessly to promote the Maitland Industrial Park as a prime location for new businesses. I have been informed that the exit process will take approximately two years.”
“We want to recognize and thank the Maitland employees, contractors, and others who have contributed to INVISTA’s success over the years,” said Brook Vickery, INVISTA President and CEO.
The Maitland site has been a cornerstone of the community since DuPont established operations in 1951. INVISTA acquired the facility about 20 years ago and has remained an important part of Augusta’s industrial sector.
“Evonik is another global company that will remain on the Maitland Industrial Site and continue its operations,” says Mayor Shaver.
Augusta Township remains committed to supporting residents during this transition and to attracting new opportunities for investment and employment
