25-Year-Old, Man Facing Disturbance, Mischief, Resisting Arrest & Fail to Comply Charges

Brockville – A 25-year-old man on probation is facing numerous charges after a disturbance on King Street West on Wednesday, October 8th.

Brockville Police say around 8:00 am last Wednesday, they received a report of a male subject who seemed disoriented, banging on store windows, acting erratically and described as aggressive towards people in the area of King Street West. They went on to say that when officers approached the area, they were waved down by multiple people who were pointing the subject out.

Police said they found the man in question. He was shirtless and walking away to avoid the officers. He fled a short distance and then sat in the middle of King Street, westbound lane.

As officers approached to take him into custody, the man then fled again on foot, resulting in a foot chase, running into Richard’s Coffee House, where he caused damage to a screen door. Police say they caught the man inside the coffee shop, where he resisted arrest so he was taken to the ground to be controlled.

They said that the suspect did receive minor, non-life-threatening injuries during the resisted arrest, which can be described as a small cut sustained during the fall.

Police said the man was charged with causing a disturbance, mischief under $5,000.00, resisting a peace officer and failing to comply with probation. He was held in custody for a bail hearing.
