Westport Rideaus Downed Metcalf 7-5 Saturday in NCJHL

Metcalf – The Westport Rideaus downed the Metcalf Jets 7-5 on Saturday in National Capital Junior Hockey League (NCJHL) action in Metcalf.

The Metcalf Jets got on the board first with a goal in the first period. The Rideaus’ Ben Peladeau (Robert Onion, Ethan Fowler) and Ethan Fowler (Thomas McLean, Robert Onion) scored the first two goals for Westport in the first.

The Jets would pick up another goal in the first, while Westport’s Ben Peladeau (Robert Onion) would score his second of the game and the Rideaus’ third goal of the night. Westport would lead 3-2 at the end of the period.

Westport would go on to pick up three more in the second period on goals by Robert Onion (Nolan Campbell, Ethan Fowler), Lukas Hannah (Braden Belot) and Connor Jackson (Noah Cyr). Metcalf picked up one more goal in the second.

In the third period, the Jets scored two more goals, while the Rideaus scored one from Noah Cyr (Nolan Campbell). winning the game 7-5.

Westport will host the Kanata Kings this Friday at the WTC Communications Centre, starting at 7:30 pm.
