Brockville – A Winter weather travel advisory is in effect for Brockville, Prescott, Mallorytown, Gananoque and Kingston today.
Reduced visibility in bursts of heavy snow with snowfall amounts of 5 cm, with locally higher amounts possible this morning, ending this afternoon.
Lake effect snow off Lake Ontario will impact the area, including the Highway 401 corridor, through the morning. The snow is expected to mix with or transition over to rain near midday or early this afternoon as temperatures moderate.
Motorists should expect hazardous winter driving conditions and adjust travel plans accordingly. Travel may be hazardous due to sudden weather changes. Poor weather conditions may contribute to transportation delays. Surfaces such as highways, roads, walkways and parking lots may become difficult to navigate due to accumulating snow. Visibility may be suddenly reduced at times in heavy snow.
