VIDEO HIGHLIGHTS: Braves Won 1-0 Over Cornwall Thursday Night

Brockville – It was the Big Train night in Cornwall last night! Yes, Peter Legostaev scored the only goal (unassisted) to give the Braves the 1 – 0 victory.

Legostaev is a workhorse! Lately, he has been seeing double duty:

* AP’ AP’ing with Gatineau in the Q
# has played 4 games & scored 4 goals
* regular shift with the Brockville Braves

VIDEO Highlights:

This double duty is nothing new for The Big Train. Two years ago, he split his time between Smiths Falls Jr B and the Braves. If memory serves me right, he once played 5 days in a row between the 2 teams and earned points in each game. The Braves’ D has started to gel as they held the Colts to a reasonable number of shots on goal.

The high-octane offence was rolling last night. Although they were denied in the goal department, they kept the puck in the Cornwall end. The seasoned vets backed up the “HO” guys with steady pressure.

It was heart-warming to see the locals, Drake Sled, Cohen Gill and Carter Cuglietta get their share of the ice time and make contributions to the win. Austin Caley shone with his shutout. He is climbing the ranks of the CCHL goaltenders. He is now 4th in SV% and 3rd in GAA.

Rockland is in town tonight, and he did beat them in the Centennial Cup play last spring.
