
Smiths Falls – The Leeds County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is currently investigating a fatal collision on County Road 29 at Kitley South Elmsley Townline Road, south of Smiths Falls.
On Thursday, November 20, 2025, shortly after 5:30 a.m., Leeds OPP received reports that a three-vehicle collision had occurred. One driver, a 61-year-old woman from the area, was pronounced deceased at the scene. All other drivers sustained minor or no injuries.
The OPP East Region Traffic Incident Management and Enforcement (TIME) team is assisting with the investigation. This includes the OPP’s Technical Collision Investigators and a Collision Reconstructionist.
The highway remained closed for several hours and has since reopened.
While the on-scene portion is complete, the investigation is continuing.
