Brockville – Local kickboxer Kristina “Killer Bee” Mabry lost her qualification bout at the World Kickboxing Championships in Abu Dhabi on Wednesday, November 25th.

In a post on Facebook, it said, “The bright side is this event is our ‘Olympics for Kickboxing” and she is now ranked 15th in the world. Making it this far was a dream come true. (The IOC is attending this event for the final certification for the 2032 Olympics.)”

Kristina accomplished the unimaginable by exceeding all expectations in only one year since her debut fight in October 2024. Nobody in the history of this sport has grinded out an unprecedented 21 fights in only one year to qualify for Team WAKO Canada.

This past year, she celebrated wins and losses, never turning down an offer to fight and always the underdog as she faced many tough opponents out of her league. Also, Kristina has never been knocked out, never been issued a standing 8 count, but she scored many.

“This milestone in her career and the love and support of Brockville is to be celebrated. She will turn this setback into a comeback for the 2032 Olympics,” said the Facebook post.

On May 10th, 2025, Mabry earned the title of Canadian featherweight kickboxing champion.

She is classified as an “amateur” vs. “professional” athlete, which means Mabry does not get paid to fight, nor are any of her expenses covered.

“Kristina is a full-time athlete, and this achievement wouldn’t have been possible without the generous full-ride sponsorships from her team of coaches and clubs that recognized her X-factor potential early on,” said the post.
