
Brockville – On December 4, 2025, the Brockville Police Service responded to a series of alarming incidents involving a male subject who threatened and assaulted staff members at two local businesses.
Investigation revealed that a 44-year-old man entered Staples on Parkedale Avenue at about 12:00 pm, where he stole a space heater and threatened to kill a staff member. Police were contacted immediately. A short time after, the subject attended a second location at Lanark Leeds Grenville Mental Health and Addictions on Front Avenue, where the situation escalated dramatically.
It was discovered that the subject assaulted a staff member by grabbing them and shoving them twice, threw an energy drink at their head, and made additional death threats to kill multiple staff members in the area.
The subject then threw a boot at another staff member, striking them in the upper back. While employees sought safety, the subject caused significant property damage by smashing a computer monitor and destroying a table.
Brockville Police located the subject nearby, placed him under arrest, and held him in custody for a bail hearing. It was learned that he was also on probation with conditions to keep the peace and be of good behaviour.
He was charged with the following offences:
- Assault
- Assault with a weapon x 2
- Uttering threats x 2
- Mischief under $5,000.00
- Theft under $5,000.00
- Fail to comply with probation x 2
