
Prescott – The South Grenville Junior Rangers won two and lost one of their three games over the weekend in NCJHL action, collecting 4 of 6 points.
Friday night at the Alaine Chartrand Community Centre, the Jr. Rangers lost a 5-3 decision to the visiting Vankleek Hill Cougars. Brock Seed (Mason Wight, Cole Hennessy) and Rhett Cleverdon (Ethan Wooller) each scored a goal in the first period, while Ty Chevrier scored the third goal in the third period.
South Grenville hosted the Morrisburg Lions on Saturday night, blanking them 9-0. The Jr. Rangers opened the scoring early and continued to find the back of the net. Mason Wight collected a Hat Trick, and Brock Seed collected 2 goals. Rhett Cleverdon, Ethan Wooller, Jaxon Viau and Brody Liston each scored a goal as well.
On Sunday, the Jr. Rangers travelled to Cumberland to play the Castors, beating them 6-4. The Rangers found themselves down late into the first period before coming back to win the game. Mason Wight scored three goals during the game, one in the first period and two in the second, while Brock Seed scored two goals, one in the first and one in the third. Jaxon Viau scored one goal in the first period.
South Grenville will travel to Cumberland on Sunday to face the Castors. The puck drops at 7:30 pm.
