Burnbrae Farms Recognized as Rural Champions at First Rural Ontario Inspiration Awards

Toronto – At the 2026 Rural Ontario Municipal Association conference on Friday in Toronto, Burnbrae Farms and the Hudson Family were recognized as Rural Champions as part of the first Rural Ontario Inspiration Awards.

Margaret & Sue Hudson accepted the award on behalf of the family with local dignitaries, Mayor Brant Burrow, Mayor of Elizabethtown-Kitley Township, Corinna Smith-Gatcke, Mayor of the Township of Leeds and The 1000 Islands, Matt Wren, Mayor of Brockville, and MPP Steve Clark.

Ontario’s Rural Affairs Minister Lisa Thompson created the awards to celebrate the amazing people who are making a difference in our rural communities.

The initiative highlights the efforts of municipalities and individuals addressing unique challenges in rural Ontario, such as infrastructure, service levels, and growth.
