Athens Downs Arnprior 5-2 on Family Day in Last Regular Season Game

Arnprior – The Athens Aeros downed the Arnprior Packers 5-2 on Monday, Family day in Arnprior.

Arnprior’s Smith (Downs, Kennedy) got the Packers on the board first with his goal in the first period. Athens would follow up with a goal by Poulin (Merkley, Kealey) in the first on a powerplay, to tie the game at 1-1.

In the second period the Aeros would pick up two more on goals from Boyer (Poulin) and Slattery on a short-handed goal. The Packers would pick up one in the period by Downs (Smith, Kennedy). The score was 3-2 for Athens at the end of the second.

In the third period it was all Athens who pick up two more goals from McGlade (Dixie, Panciuk) and Poulin (Slattery) his second of the game.
