
Gananoque – Police reports from the Gananoque Police Service from February 20th to March 8th, 2026.
Assault:
On February 20th, 2026, officers received a report of an assault that occurred on February 14th. The victim disclosed being assaulted by their partner after a verbal dispute in which the victim attempted to leave. The accused threatened to kill the victim before further assaulting them. As a result, on February 21st, a 41-year-old person from Gananoque was arrested and charged with Assault – spousal, Sexual assault and Uttering threats – cause death or bodily harm. They were held in custody pending a bail hearing.
Assault:
On February 16th, 2026, the Gananoque Police Service received a report of an assault that occurred between neighbours. Officers attended and evidence showed a 63-year-old person from Gananoque used their vehicle to approach a person on a bicycle, then using their door to strike the victim. A warrant was sought and on February 23rd, 2026 the accused was arrested and charged with Assault. They were released on an undertaking with conditions.
B&E, Failure to Comply:
On February 27th, 2026, officers while on patrol in the early morning hours observed a vehicle parked outside a commercial business. After observing the vehicle leave, the officers attended the business to check for suspicious activity and located two sets of footprints. During the search for the suspects, break in tools and stolen items were located in proximity of the business. The suspects were tracked extensively before being located attempting to get a ride out of Gananoque. As a result, a 31-year-old person from Kingston and a 43-year-old person from Kingston were arrested and charged jointly with Break, Enter with intent to commit indictable offence and Failure to comply with probation and Failure to comply with release order respectively. They were released on an undertaking with conditions.
Uttering Threats/Fail to Comply:
On March 1st, 2026, officers responded to a 9-1-1 call regarding a dispute where a 31-yearold person from Gananoque threatened their senior family member. The accused was under the influence of substances and belligerent with officer. The accused was arrested and charged with Utter threats – cause death or bodily harm and Fail to comply with probation x2. They were held in custody for a show cause bail hearing.
Flight from Police/Failure to Comply:
On March 3rd, 2026 in the early morning hours, officers on patrol observed a vehicle driving erratically. Officers attempted to conduct a traffic stop but the driver fled. The officers disengaged and after an investigation, the driver was identified and a warrant was issued. On March 5th, the accused attended the police station for their required probation appointment. At that time they were taken into custody and the 31-year-old person from Rideau Lakes was charged with: Flight from peace officer, Operation while prohibited under the Criminal Code, Dangerous operation, Failure to comply with undertaking x2, Failure to comply with release order, Failure to comply with probation. They were held in custody pending a bail hearing.
Failure to Comply:
On January 4th, 2026, officers on patrol attempted to conduct a traffic stop on a vehicle in the early morning hours. The vehicle fled and officers disengaged due to road conditions. An investigation was conducted, the driver was identified and a warrant was sought. On March 5th, 2026, a neighbouring police agency located and arrested the 40-year-old driver from Brockville who was transported to the Gananoque Police station and charged with Failure to comply with release order. They were released on an undertaking with conditions, to be seen in court at a later date.
Impaired Driving:
On March 7th, 2026, the Gananoque Police Service received a 9-1-1 call of a vehicle striking a light post. Police, firefighters and paramedics attended the collision to find the vehicle’s airbags had deployed, the passenger had sustained an injury and both driver and passenger showed signs of impairment. The 24-year-old person from Kingston was arrested and transported to the station for further testing. As a result, they were charged with Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs and Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus). The driver was issued a mandatory 90-day license suspension and the vehicle was impounded for 7 days.
Assault:
On March 7th, 2026, officers responded to a residence for a report of a youth who had assaulted two people. The 14-year-old youth from Gananoque was arrested and charged with Assault x2. They were held in custody for a show cause bail hearing.
Harassing/Fail to Comply:
On March 8th, 2026, the Gananoque Police Service was contacted by a neighbouring agency regarding the arrest of a 35-year-old person from Elgin on the strength of the service’s bench warrant. They were transported to the station and held in custody for a show cause bail hearing for the previously laid charges of Harassing communications and Fail to comply with probation.
