Kemptville 73s Won Both Weekend CCHL Games

Kemptville – The Kemptville 73s won both of its weekend CCHL games. On Friday they beat the Pembroke Lumber Kings 15-0 and on Sunday they won a 3-0 decision over the Nepean Raiders.

Kemptville 3 – Nepean 0 – Sunday

The Kemptville 73’s earned a 3–0 victory over the Nepean Raiders on Sunday afternoon at the Nepean Sportsplex. Ouellette opened the scoring on a first-period power play from Voisey and Mbarushimana before Achim added another goal from Venance and Voisey later in the frame.

McDougall extended the lead in the second period, finishing a play from Ouellette and Mullins. Carswell turned aside all 27 shots he faced to record the shutout.

At the other end, Brant made 33 saves on 36 shots in the loss as Nepean was unable to solve the Kemptville goaltender.

Kemptville 15 – Pembroke 0 – Friday night:

The Kemptville 73’s erupted for a dominant 15–0 victory over the Pembroke Lumber Kings on Friday night at the North Grenville Municipal Centre.

Ouellette (2) and Venance (1) scored in the first, joined by St. James (1) to give Kemptville a 4–0 lead after one period of play. The offense continued with goals from McDougall, Nichols, St. James (2), Venance (2), Kulas, D’Arienzo and Henderson in the second.

Sweetapple, Hennessy, Venance (3) and Redmond added third-period markers.

Donovan stopped all 14 shots for the shutout, while Ferguson made 19 saves on 26 shots and Zomers turned aside 21 of 29 for Pembroke.
