Brockville – A Freezing Rain Warning now covers all of Leeds & Grenville with a prolonged period of freezing rain expected beginning this afternoon or early evening, and ending overnight or early Thursday morning.
Freezing drizzle or light flurries will transition to a more significant episode of freezing rain later this afternoon or evening. Freezing rain is expected to last for many hours before tapering off overnight or early Thursday morning.
Hazards: Significant ice build-up due to a long-lasting period of freezing rain. Ice accretion of 5 to 10 mm.
Another round of freezing rain is likely on Friday. Confidence in which areas will be most significantly impacted is still uncertain but should become clearer on Thursday.
Surfaces such as highways, roads, walkways and parking lots will become icy, slippery and hazardous. Ice build-up may cause tree branches to break. Utility outages may occur.
Consider postponing non-essential travel until conditions improve.
