Brockville – Last weekend we hosted our 2023 Awards Banquet at The Keystorm Pub and what a celebration it was.
Amazing turnout, fantastic food and many memories of last year were shared across the club. Our next few posts will highlight this past season’s award winners!
Our Jr Girls program got a reboot this year and what an incredibly successful season it was!
Running U14, U16 and U18 programs all saw huge success in 15s and 7s. This year the program only continues to grow starting off with their Hawaii Tour next month!

Also back in action this year was our women’s team! Practicing all summer and battling hard in a few friendlies and participating in the Legendary Glengarry Highland Games the Women’s squad looks to only continue their growth in the coming season!

Undefeated. Champions. Handsome. Just a few words to describe our Sr. Men’s squad last year who had an amazing run and went 10-0 finishing the year as EORU Div II champions. The men have shifted their celebrations into focusing on the 2024 season and picking up where they left off.

Joining the men in the photo are Mark Aird, one of the recipients of the Paul VanHeil Award and Cody Smith, one of the recipients of the Mikey Cooper Award.
The final two awards given out at the Banquet were the Mikey Cooper and Paul VanHiel Awards. These awards are named in honour of two Privateers who left us too soon but will always and forever be chiselled in Privateers’ history.
The Mikey Cooper Award is given to the club member who’ve shown exceptional courage on the pitch and demonstrated outstanding commitment to their team. This year’s winners showcase this in every way possible.

The Paul VanHiel Award is given to the player who best portrays the leadership, integrity, dedication and loyalty of Paul did. These two players absolutely bleed Privateers Blue.
