Westport – The Westport Rideaus won 5-4 in overtime over the Almonte Inferno on Friday night in National Capital Junior Hockey League action in Westport.
The Rideaus would score the first goal by Evan Rice in the first period.
Westport would go on and score three more in the second on goals by Rowan Lahaise, and Robert Onion and a second goal of the game for Evan Rice.
In the third period though, Almonte would retaliate with four goals by Kieran Campbell, Justin Greene, Isaac Edwards “A” and Daniel Berti “A” to tie the game at 4-4 and send it to overtime.
In overtime, the game-winning goal would come from Jack Leonard for the Rideaus at 5:29 in the period.
