Smiths Falls – The Smiths Falls Jr. Bears won a 4-3 decision in a shootout over the Richmond Royals on Thursday night in EOJHL action at the Bears Den.
Richmond was on the board first in the first period on goals by Dylan Rorwick, Theo Avila and Tyler Branchaud.
Danil Zabednov would pick up the first goal for Smiths Falls at the 35-second mark in the period.
In the third the Jr. Bears would pick up two more on goals by Jack Storie and a second one of the game for Zabednov to tie the game at 3-3 and send it to overtime.
There was no scoring in the overtime period. In the shootout, White and Rorwick would not score for the Royals, while Legostaev and Zabednov, (3rd of the game) would make their goals to win the game.
Smiths Falls travel to Carleton Place on Saturday night to play the Junior Canadians. The puck drops at 7:30 pm.
