Brockville Police Reports – February 17, 2024 – Stabbing/Aggravated Assault, Group Altercation

Brockville – Police reports from the Brockville Police Service from February 12th to 17th, 2024.

Some Statistics from the Week:

Since February 12, 2024, the Brockville Police Service has received 192 calls for service. Among those calls’ officers have executed six arrest warrants, and four mental health apprehensions and laid 41 charges consisting of 17 traffic charges and 24 criminal charges. Officers during this period averaged almost 40 calls for service each day. Multiple investigations are significant and will be investigated in depth by our Criminal Investigations Branch.

Stabbing/Aggravated Assault:

This morning, February 17, 2024, shortly after 7:00 am, the Brockville Police Service received a report of a stabbing that had taken place at a residence in the city’s south end. Investigation revealed that four male suspects had attended to the residence and a male was stabbed by an
edged weapon. He was transported to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. At this time, it is not believed there is any further risk to public safety. Investigators are asking anyone with information to contact the Brockville Police Service at 613-342-0127 or anonymously by calling Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).

Group Altercation:

On February 17, 2024, at about 12:30 am, police received multiple calls regarding a fight in the area of King St. W. It was described as involving a group in the range of 15-20 people. The fight was instigated by two males who were originally in a verbal altercation. The altercation started out in a verbal dispute that escalated, where one male began striking the other male multiple times. Then, others in the area became involved and the disturbance became physical for many. Injuries received by anyone involved are considered non-life-threatening. The incident is
still under investigation and police have already identified many involved. Once the investigation is complete, applicable charges will be laid. If anyone has information regarding the incident we are asking that you contact the Brockville Police Service at 613-342-0127.
