Gananoque – Police reports from the Gananoque Police Service from February 6th to 21st, 2024.
Fraud:
On January 17th, 2024 the Gananoque Police Service entered into an investigation after receiving a report of fraud. On February 6th, 2024, two 36-year-old individuals from Gananoque were arrested and charged jointly with Fraud over $5000. Both were released on an undertaking with conditions, to be seen in court at a later date.
Domestic-Mischief:
On February 8th, 2024, officers responded to a domestic dispute in progress, upon arrival the suspect had left the scene. The suspect was contacted, and the 41-year-old individual from Gananoque turned themselves into the officers at the station. They were charged with Mischief – -domestic, and two counts of Failure to comply with the release order. The person was held in custody for a show cause bail hearing.
Warrant:
On February 8th, 2024, a neighbouring police service arrested a 20-year-old individual from Joyceville on the strength of two warrants held by the Gananoque Police Service. The person was transported to the station where they were charged with Failure to attend court after having appeared. They were held in custody for a show cause bail hearing.
Failure to Comply:
On February 9th, 2024 a warrant was issued for an individual for failing to comply with their probation. On February 10th, 2024 the person was located and arrested on that warrant. The 68-year-old individual from Gananoque was charged with one count of failure to comply with probation, and released on an appearance notice, to be seen in court at a later date.
Domestic Assault:
On May 17th, 2018, the Gananoque Police Service responded to a 9-1-1 for a domestic assault that occurred at a local business. The suspect had left the premises prior to the call, and after further investigation, a warrant was obtained for Assault – spousal x2, Uttering threats – cause death or bodily harm, Mischief under $5000, and Attempt to obstruct justice. On February 14th, 2024 the arrest warrant was executed on the 33-year-old individual at a correctional facility, to be seen in court at a
later date.
Impaired Driving:
On February 16th, 2024, officers responded to a report of a possible impaired driver with two minor-aged occupants. The vehicle and driver were located, and a roadside breath test was conducted resulting in a fail. The individual was arrested and returned to the station for further testing. Subsequently, the 25-year-old individual was given a 3-day license suspension and charged with two Provincial Offence Notices for Fail to notify change of address, and Novice driver – BAC above zero
Impaired Driving:
On February 17th, 2024, officers on patrol conducted a traffic stop in the early morning hours. While speaking with the driver, they were observed to have open alcohol in the vehicle and showed signs of impairment. A roadside breath test was conducted, resulting in a Warn. As a result, a 21-year-old individual from Amherstview was given a 3-day license suspension and charged with two Provincial Offence Notices for Novice driver – BAC above zero and Having care or control of a motor vehicle with an open container of liquor.
Warrants:
On February 21st, 2024, officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle with two occupants. Upon identification, it was determined that the 60-year-old individual from Kingston had active warrants with multiple police services. The services were contacted, and subsequently, the person was arrested and held for a neighbouring service to attend and execute their warrant.
