Brockville – A 37-year-old man is facing assault charges after choking his girlfriend on Sunday, April 14 in the city.
Police say they received a report of an assault that had taken place between a couple on George St. An investigation revealed that a 37-year-old, man was engaged in a dispute with his girlfriend.
The man then threatened to harm the woman and began choking her. Police say he choked her to the point of where it was described that she was losing consciousness, twice.
Police eventually located the man and he was placed under arrest. Police said the woman suffered non-life-threatening injuries.
The man was held in custody for a bail hearing for the offences of assault, assault causing bodily harm, uttering threats, forcible confinement and breach of recognizance.
