Brockville & District Hospital Foundation’s 4th Annual Ride The River Set for May 26th

Brockville – The Brockville & District Hospital Foundation’s 4th annual Ride the River in support of the Brockville General Hospital is taking place on Sunday, May 26th along the 1000 Islands Parkway.

This year every donation will directly support the purchase of new beds, for the hospital ensuring comfort and care for patients in need.

This year’s goal is $500,000.

Ride the River was created in memory of Dr. Smylie, commemorating his long-term contributions to healthcare at Brockville General Hospital.

Ride the route of your choice. The ride kicks off at Brown’s Bay as an individual, family or with your team, complete any of the Ride the River routes.

Option 1: Riders supporting Ride the River have the flexibility to ride at their convenience and location of choice before May 26th.

Option 2: On May 26th, riders can join others along the scenic 1000 Islands Parkway, with four distinct routes available:

  • 5 km: Beginning at Brown’s Bay, this route spans 2.5 km to mile marker 1180, then returns to Brown’s Bay via the same trail.
  • 25 km: Starting at Brown’s Bay, riders journey 12.5 km to the Lighthouse Store in Mallorytown before retracing their path to Brown’s Bay.
  • 50 km: This route leads riders 25 km to the picturesque Smuggler’s Glen Golf Course, followed by a return journey to Brown’s Bay along the same trail.
  • 100 km: Embarking on a longer adventure, riders head west for 15 km to Escott Rockport Rd, then make a right turn for 4.5 km up Escott Rockport Rd. Afterward, they return to the parkway, turning right back onto the trail for another 18 km. Upon reaching the trail’s end, riders reverse course, passing Brown’s Bay and covering 4.3 km to the east end before returning to Brown’s Bay.

The final event will be held at Brown’s Bay on the 1000 Islands Parkway at 1231-1241 Thousand Islands Pkwy, Mallorytown.
