Lombardy – The Leeds County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has laid multiple charges after a firearms-related incident in the Lombardy area of Rideau Lakes Township.
On May 24, 2024, at 1:00 a.m., members of the OPP responded to a residence off Mahon Road where it was reported that a man had pointed a shotgun at another person.
The victim was able to escape unharmed, but the individual reported hearing a single gunshot.
Leeds OPP, assisted by the OPP Emergency Response Team, safely arrested one person at the scene.
Derek Bradshaw, age 54 of North Grenville, has been charged with:
- Pointing a Firearm
- Forcible Confinement
- Uttering Threats – Cause Death or Bodily Harm
- Careless Use of Firearm
- Robbery Using Firearm
The accused was held in custody and is scheduled to appear for a bail hearing before the Ontario Court of Justice in Brockville today.
The Leeds County OPP Crime Unit continues to investigate this incident, with assistance from the OPP Forensic Identification Services.
A police presence will remain for several hours to allow for a complete and thorough investigation. Please avoid the area.
