Rideau Lakes – The Leeds County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged a Rideau Lakes Township resident with impaired driving after being stopped at a RIDE program.
Officers began the investigation at a RIDE check on Harlem Road, in Rideau Lakes Township just before 6:00 p.m. on June 1, 2024.
Paul Peters, age 69, was arrested and charged with operation while impaired – alcohol and operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus).
The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Brockville on June 28, 2024.
His driver’s licence has been suspended for 90 days and his vehicle impounded for seven days.
