Brockville – Police reports from the Brockville Police Service from June 22nd and 23rd, 2024.
Male Charged for Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking a Variety of Drugs:
On June 23, 2024, at about 10:00 pm, police received a 911 call regarding a 20-year-old, male who had attended a residence on First Ave. The subject was on condition not to be around the
occupants of the residence while under the influence of drugs, which, investigation revealed, the subject was under the influence of Fentanyl. He made multiple attempts to gain entry to the house through multiple windows and doors. Police arrived quickly and the male was arrested for failing to comply with his Recognizance (peace bond).
When the subject was searched, officers located a significant quantity of various drugs, including Fentanyl, Xanax, Psilocybin (magic mushrooms), Cocaine, Cannabis, Ecstasy and Dilaudid. The estimated street value for the quantities seized is approximately $115,000.00. The male subject was held for a bail hearing for the offences of breach of Recognizance, possession for the purpose of distributing cannabis and six counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking in multiple other substances; Fentanyl, Xanax, Psilocybin (magic mushrooms), Cocaine, Ecstasy and Dilaudid.
Intimate Partner Violence Leads to Charges:
On June 23, 2024, at about 8:45 pm, police received a 911 call at the Days Inn, regarding the sound of a male yelling at a female that he was going to smash her phone and her yelling for
him not to hurt her. Police arrived and spoke to the couple involved, who are both local to Brockville. Investigation revealed that a 64-year-old, male had broken the female’s cellphone and assaulted her by threatening and gesturing to strike her with a bicycle lock. The male was placed under arrest for mischief and assault with a weapon. He was charged with those offences and held in custody for a bail hearing.
Speeding Leads to Stunt Driving Charges:
On June 23, 2024, at about 8:30 pm, police were patrolling the area of North Augusta Rd. when a vehicle was observed travelling at a high rate of speed. The officer measured speeds of 111
km/h, in a posted 60 km/h zone. The 55-year-old, male driver was operating a Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck. The male’s truck was impounded, the driver’s licence was suspended and charged with performing stunts – excessive speed and driving with no currently validated permit.
Intimate Partner Violence Leads to Charges:
On June 22, 2024, at about 4:30 pm, police received a report of a dispute between a couple, in their vehicle, on Laurier Blvd. The dispute continued as the couple made their way to a residence on Brighton Cres. Police spoke to those involved and the investigation revealed that the 35-year-old, female assaulted her male partner by throwing multiple drinking cups at him. The male was not seriously injured in the incident. The female was arrested and charged with assault with a weapon. She was released with conditions and a future court date.
