Morrisburg – St. Lawrence Parks Commission (SLPC) is thrilled to announce its lineup of special events for the upcoming fall season. With more than a decade of experience crafting unforgettable Halloween experiences, SLPC is set to deliver three distinct and thrilling offerings catering to every Halloween enthusiast throughout Eastern Ontario: the original Pumpkinferno at Upper Canada Village in Morrisburg, Pumpkinferno at Kingston Pen Tours, and the return of Fort Fright at Fort Henry in Kingston. Pumpkinferno at Upper Canada Village: The Original Enchanting Pumpkin Luminary Experience

The award-winning event that started it all returns for its 13th season at Upper Canada Village in Morrisburg select evenings from September 27 to October 31, 2024. The family-friendly attraction introduces six brand new themes consisting of intricately carved and handcrafted glowing pumpkin sculptures alongside returning favourites throughout the Village. With over 9000 pumpkins all artfully arranged along a self-guided path, attendees of all ages will be immersed in a magical world of light and artistry, ensuring an enchanting experience for everyone.

Kingston’s Pumpkinferno by Kingston Pen Tours

When the sun goes down, Kingston Pen Tours presents Pumpkinferno, transforming the historic site into an enchanting wonderland with lighting effects and 17 brilliant pumpkin sculpture exhibits glowing against the limestone walls. For its fourth season in Kingston, beginning September 27, 2024, the historic Kingston Penitentiary will provide a backdrop for this family-friendly event. Guests will have the chance to explore the mesmerizing display of over 7,000 glowing pumpkins while enjoying the site’s rich architecture. Both children and adults will marvel at how Kingston Penitentiary is transformed into a place of magic and light.

Fort Fright: Unleash Your Nightmares

Prepare to be terrified as Fort Fright returns to Fort Henry in Kingston, transforming the 18th-century garrison and National Historic Site into a spine-chilling haunted house. This terrifying immersive experience through the Fort’s narrow hallways and interior ditch offers a compelling option for those who want to venture beyond pumpkins, deep into the macabre nature of the season to find true ‘Halloween spirit’. The Fort Fright scare attraction presents a nightmarish realm of creatures and monsters using more than 50 movie-style, quality animatronics, dynamic special effects, intense sound and lighting and many costumed scare actors. This season, brace yourself for additional Dark Nights and the return of Terror Tuesdays with heart-pounding horror film screenings. Fort Fright opens on September 27, 2024, and runs select evenings until October 31, 2024.
