Brockville Rotary Clubs Recognized by City at Tuesday Night’s Council Meeting

Rotarians from both the Rotary Club of the 1000 Islands and the Rotary Club of Brockville were on hand on Tuesday night at the Brockville City Council meeting as they were being recognized by the city for the many years of organizing the Brockville Santa Claus Parades. 2023 was the last year the Rotary Clubs will organize the parade passing it on to William and Kate McKinnon who will start organizing this year’s parade. – (Rotary Clubs of Brockville Photo)

Brockville – City Council recognized the tremendous efforts of the Rotary Clubs of Brockville (Rotary Club of the 1000 Islands & Rotary Club of Brockville) in planning and executing the Brockville Rotary Santa Claus parades over many years.

Both Rotary Clubs decided earlier this year to pass the torch in organizing the annual parade to William and Kate McKinnon.

They plan to maintain the fun spirit of the parade while making some changes, including beginning earlier and shortening its length.

They are also exploring ways to ensure the event is inclusive for all, particularly for children with sensory needs.

This year’s Santa Claus parade will be held on November 16th at 4:00 pm. More information is still to come.
