Gananoque Police Chief Scott Gee Resigning to Become Deputy Chief in Kingston

Gananoque – Gananoque Police Service (GPS) Chief Scott Gee is resigning from the GPS to become Deputy Chief for the Kingston Police Service.

In a statement from the Gananoque Police Services Board on Thursday, it stated, “The Gananoque Police Services Board has accepted the resignation of Chief Scott Gee, effective January 1, 2025, as Chief Gee has accepted a career opportunity elsewhere.”

“The Board would like to thank Chief Gee for his excellent service to both the citizens of Gananoque and the members of the Gananoque Police Service throughout his many years with the GPS. The Board is grateful for Chief Gee’s continuing assistance through this transitional time.”

The Kingston Police announced today the appointment of Scott Gee as Deputy Chief of the Kingston Police, effective January 1, 2025.

“Scott Gee will be joining the Kingston Police Executive Team and working alongside newly appointed Deputy Chief Matt Funnell. With over two decades of dedicated service in law enforcement, Scott Gee brings a wealth of experience and leadership to his new role. He has served in various capacities throughout his career, making notable contributions to public safety, community outreach, and organizational leadership. His appointment is expected to further enhance the operational capacity and strategic initiatives of the Kingston Police.” said the Kingston Police Service Board in a statement.

“The appointment of Scott Gee strengthens our leadership team and reflects our commitment to evolving and growing as a modern police service,” said Jarrod Stearns, Chair of the Kingston Police Service Board. “We are confident that his experience and leadership qualities will be a tremendous asset to the Kingston Police Service and the community it serves.”

Deputy Chief Gee will collaborate with Deputy Chief Funnell and Chief of Police, Scott Fraser, to provide strong leadership and continue delivering exemplary policing services to the Kingston community.
