Brockville – The United Way of Leeds Grenville officially launched its new fundraising event, ‘Novemburger,’ on Tuesday, October 29th, at Fat Les’s on King in Brockville.

Starting this Friday, November 1st for the entire month, for every Novemburger ordered at one of the participating restaurants, $2 will be donated back to the United Way Leeds & Grenville.
This is the first year for Novemburger in Leeds-Grenville, but it has been going on for five years starting in Etobicoke and Thunder Bay. In Thunder Bay’s first year they raised $10,000 and last year, their fourth they raised $60,000.
The ten participating restaurants are:
- Fat Les’s On King – Brockville
- Karra’s Burgers & Fries – Brockville
- Manoll’s Fish & Chips – Brockville
- Stoodley’s Kitchen & Beverage – Elgin
- Tim’s Fish and Chips – Prescott
- Rapid Valley – Lansdowne
- Cedar Valley Golf & Country Club – Forthton
- Luna Pizzeria – Brockville
- The Bridgeview Dockside Restaurant & Patio – Johnstown
- The Keystorm Pub – Brockville
Three burger ambassadors have also been carefully selected to give you the verdict on the best Novemburgers in Leeds and Grenville.
They are Doreen Barnes, Janica Roberts and Chad Noonan. They will be trying each burger from the 10 participating restaurants and will be rating each burger’s appearance, taste and more.
There will be three awards, Top Novemburger of the Year (the ambassador’s choice); Most Novemburgers Sold and a People’s Choice.
Anyone can vote for People’s Choice at the United Way’s website at https://www.uwlg.org/novemburger or scan the QR code on the table toppers located at the participating restaurants where they can vote and donate.
In early December a ceremony will be held to announce the winners and wrap up of this year’s Leeds & Grenville fundraising campaign.
