VIDEOS: Braves Dropped 3-2 Game to Cornwall Friday Night & The Grads Downed Braves 5-2 Sunday in CCHL

Brockville – The Brockville Braves lost both of their weekend games in the CCHL. They dropped a 3-2 game to arch-rival Cornwall Colts at the Memorial Centre on Friday night and lost to the Navan Grads 5-2 on Sunday in Navan.

In Friday’s game against Cornwall in a battle labelled “Contender or Pretender” the fans were treated to a pretty even back-and-forth game.

Triston Miron and Kaidan Pyke teamed up on what was a picture-perfect goal. Even had the Braves fans appreciating the finesse on this one.

Kimani Eccleston tucked home a five-hole beauty to bring the game within 1. Hunter McKnight drew the assist on that one.

McKnight almost notched the tying goal when a sweet pass from Asst Captain Kayden Buller deflected off his stick while he was staring at an empty cage.

Luc Beliveau scored the eventual winner when he swiped a loose puck at the Brave’s net. It was a goal but many long-toothed Brockville fans swore the puck hit both posts and went out, never crossing the goal line.

Ryan Gerlich came on in relief of starter Trey Caracciolo in the second period and stopped all 22 shots he faced.

The Braves are “in” every game but struggling to come up with the 2 points.

On Sunday in Navan, Brockville lost 5-2 to the Grads. Scoring the two goals for the Braves’ Grady Spicer in the first period and Kellen Dostaler (Spicer, Verspeeten) in the second period.

Spicer grabbed 3rd star in the game.

The Braves host the Kemptville 73s this Friday night at the Memorial Centre. Game time is 7:30 pm.
