Brockville – This is a reminder that the Brockville Police Service will be conducting an increased amount of R.I.D.E. programs during the holiday season. Please, make arrangements to get home safely this holiday season by planning for overnight accommodations or a designated driver.
On November 30, 2024, at about 4:15 pm, police received reports of a motor vehicle collision in the area of Central Ave and Park St. Officers attended and spoke to the involved occupants of the vehicle and it was found that no one was seriously injured in the collision. However, as the investigation continued, an odour of alcohol was detected coming from one of the involved
drivers.
The driver was identified as a 54-year-old, female. A roadside breath sample was taken from the driver, which failed. She was placed under arrest and taken to the Brockville Police Service for further testing. This testing confirmed she was driving while over the legal limit and impaired.
As a result, her driver’s licence was suspended, her vehicle was impounded and charged with operation while impaired, operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration was over 80mg and careless driving. She was released with a future court date.
