Winter Weather Travel Advisory: Brockville, Prescott, Merrickville-Wolford, Kemptville

Snow Squall Warning: Gananoque, Mallorytown, Charleston Lake & Westport
Lake effect snow squalls off Lake Ontario are expected to affect Highway 401 during the morning commute. Snow squalls may move in and out of the area this evening before moving back south of the area tonight.
Under the snow squall bands, visibilities will be significantly reduced due to the heavy snow combined with blowing snow, and snow will quickly accumulate.
Locally heavy snowfall with accumulations of 15 to 25 cm. Peak snowfall rates of 3 to 6 cm per hour with very poor visibility at times in heavy snow.
Snow squalls cause weather conditions to vary considerably; changes from clear skies to heavy snow within just a few kilometres are common. Visibility will be suddenly reduced to near zero at times in heavy snow and blowing snow. Prepare for quickly changing and deteriorating travel conditions.
Motorists should expect hazardous winter driving conditions and adjust travel plans accordingly. Surfaces such as highways, roads, walkways and parking lots may become difficult to navigate due to accumulating snow.
Slow down driving in slippery conditions. Watch for taillights ahead and maintain a safe following distance.
