Brockville – City police are investigating reports of gunshots in the area of Church Street on Sunday evening.
Brockville Police say on Sunday, December 15, 2024, around 8:00 pm, they received multiple 911 calls regarding reports of gunshots fired, in the area of Church Street.
“Officers responded quickly and located the crime scene near the intersection of Church St. and Clarissa St. Investigation revealed that several rounds were fired at a multi-unit residence,” said Brockville Police Inspector Darryl Boyd in a media release. “There were no reported injuries as a result of the incident.”
Boyd also said that a preliminary investigation has led police to determine that this was a targeted act of violence and the incident remains under investigation, and information will be released when it becomes available.
The police are asking anyone with information to call the Brockville Police Service at 613-342-0127 Extension: 0 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS.
“Police are asking residents and businesses in the area of Church Street, George Street, Perth Street, Gilmour Street and Maple Street to check their video surveillance in and around the time of the occurrence and report any suspicious activity to Police,” said Boyd.
