Gananoque – The Gananoque Islanders won a 9-6 decision over the Frontenac Phantoms on Friday night in EOSHL action at the Lou Jeffries.
The Islanders got on the board first on a goal from #20 Ryan Pawlikowski (#15 Aidan Harris, #8 Graeme Brown) in the first period followed by another by #77 Duane Wainman (#10 Chris Latimer, #14 Aaron Duggan).
The Frontenac’s #90 Adam Smith (#93 Robert Rice) would then score the Phantom’s first goal. Gan would score two more in the first from #19 Ben Blasko (#20 Ryan Pawlikowski, #8 Graeme Brown) and #15 Aidan Harris (#20 Ryan Pawlikowski, #7 Alex Rees).
The Phantoms scored one more in the first, but the Islanders had a 4-2 lead at the end of the period.
In the second period, Frontenac would score three more, followed by two more goals for Gan scored by #15 Aidan Harris (#19 Ben Blasko) and #13 Justynn Steven (#72 Cody Smith). The Islanders led 6-5 at the end of the second.
In the third period, #8 Graeme Brown (#19 Ben Blasko, #20 Ryan Pawlikowski), #77 Duane Wainman (#12 Warren Marcotte) and #22 Jake Pullen (#72 Cody Smith, #8 Graeme Brown) each would score for Gananoque. Frontenac would score one more in the third, but it wasn’t enough. The Islanders end the game 9-6.
Gananoque will travel to Barry’s Bay to play the Madawaska Valley Wolves this Saturday night. Game time is 7:00 pm.
