Edwardsburgh-Cardinal – A routine traffic stop involving a tractor-trailer on Highway 401, near the Highway 416 interchange by the Ministry of Transportation Ontario (MTO) has resulted in the recovery of two stolen vehicles.
Grenville OPP say they were called in by the MTO on Friday, January 17th after the MTO officer stopped a transport on Highway 401, where two vehicles were located in the sea container that was on the trailer.
OPP confirmed that the Toyota Highlander and Dodge Ram in the container had been stolen from the Toronto and Peterborough areas. Police also seized a quantity of suspected methamphetamine.
Police say that the truck driver was arrested at the scene and has been charged with possession of stolen property and possession of a Schedule 1 substance.
Prem Parkash SINGH, age 26 of Georgetown, Ontario has been charged with:
- Possession of property obtained by crime-over $5000 – two counts
- Possession of a Schedule 1 substance
The accused was released from custody with a scheduled appearance before the Ontario Court of Justice in Brockville on February 21, 2025.
The investigation into the stolen vehicles is continuing.
